How to install a driver on Windows 10
Technological progress concerns everything: if before the office had a separate printer, scanner and copier, thanks to the invention of engineers, all this turned into a single MFP. Meanwhile, programmers were able to create universal drivers for all these devices – in the event that several equipment from the same manufacturer are used at once. Download the Brother generic driver from the link above. We also present you with detailed installation instructions.
The file you downloaded is a whole archive. In order to unpack its contents, in the window that opens, click “Decompress”. The process will not take long.
Very soon you will see the following window – in it, just click “OK”. Going to the folder that appears after unpacking, you will see the Setup.exe file. Click on it.
Those who used to install drivers earlier may notice the similarities between the universal version and the regular one – the same window with a welcome from the developers, graphic design. Click on the “Next” button.
Another similarity is the presence of a License Agreement built directly into the installer. You can familiarize yourself with it, but to continue you need to agree with all the provisions.
The installation will be completed quickly – you will find out about this as soon as the next window appears. Click Finish.
You can use the driver in any text editor – Word, for example. In order to print choose “Brother Universal Printer”.
